The Bulk Pinned Comment Editor scans your recent videos for pinned comments and lets you update them all at once — using find & replace, a template with dynamic variables, or individual edits per video.
How pinned comment detection works
CommentShark scans your recent videos and finds the comments that appear to be pinned based on how YouTube surfaces them in the comment list.
This works reliably in most cases, but it's still worth reviewing the scan results before applying bulk edits. In some edge cases, a comment may be included even if it was surfaced for another reason.
Updating pinned comments
After scanning, you have three ways to update the detected comments:
- Find & Replace — enter a string to find and a string to replace it with across all pinned comments at once. Useful for updating a link, product name, or date.
- Template — write a new comment body using dynamic variables. The template is applied to all selected videos.
- Individual edits — click into any video's pinned comment and edit it manually before applying.
- Selection — choose exactly which detected comments to include. The editor enforces your plan limit before anything is sent to YouTube.
Template variables
Templates support variables that are replaced with video-specific values when the edit is applied:
- {video_title} — replaced with the video's title
- {video_url} — replaced with the video's YouTube URL
- {channel_name} — replaced with your channel name
Example: "New video alert! Watch {video_title} and drop your questions below 👇" becomes a personalized pinned comment on each video.
Rate limits and plan limits
To prevent accidental mass edits, bulk edits are limited to once every 18 hours. You can scan as often as you like.
- Free — scan up to 20, edit up to 3
- Starter — scan up to 100, edit up to 15
- Creator — scan up to 250, edit up to 100
- Pro — scan up to 500, edit up to 200
Safe bulk updates and retries
Before editing, CommentShark verifies that each scanned comment still exists, belongs to your channel, remains on the same video, and has not changed since the scan. Each row reports whether it was updated, was already current, or failed. Retrying after a connection error recovers the same operation instead of blindly sending every edit again.
What this tool cannot do
- It cannot pin comments for you. You must pin a comment manually in YouTube Studio first — this tool only edits comments that are already pinned.
- It cannot create new pinned comments.
- It cannot pin comments on videos where you haven't already pinned one.
